Howdy hon! How's the weather over there? Ah.. to have the money to go to whatever faire I'd like, especially the ones far away here, and across the oceans. Oh, well, always good to dream I'll win the lottery and be able to do that right?

I've always said that the grandparents and great grandparents were wrong for not passing on their native languages to the kids. I would be able to understand both the German & Dutch if the heritage had been saved.
Oh well... I was in the Netherlands in March 1972 for a school trip. They put Amsterdam at the beginning of the trip thinking that if it was the last stop on the trip (Amsterdam, Paris, London) we'd be bored and disappointed. The majority of us wished the whole trip had been in the Netherlands. Other than the accommodations at the Youth Hostel, it was the best part of the whole 15 days!!!
If they had London as the 1st stop I wouldn't have had ANY money by time I got back here. I left NYC with $240, landed in Paris with $130, in London with $30, and back in NYC with 50 cents. London was WAY more expensive. I got some majorly wonderful things in the Netherlands, like a diamond ring, 2 beautiful Delft vases, 50 tulip bulbs...
Morgana, with careful planning you could have a great time here, going from one faire to the next.
