OK.... got one I can't seem to find in the handbook.

What the heck is 'FIENDING'? I'm 'up for' all the other items on the Free Kiss card, but don't know about this one.

Thanks Be to my Fella Wenches for the intel.

Thanks! That was exactly what I was looking for ....

.... and I know just who I want to go a-fiending upon (she cackles with glee)

I'll have to let y'all know if he buckles or not  Oh what am I saying... I'm a wench... of COURSE he's going to buckle.

Question is... will I catch him or just let him hit the floor as I walk away

Since you were so gracious with Fiending... can you fill me in on some techno-wenching stuff?

What is the Karma thingie and how can I get some?

What is 'brand spanking new' (don't mind the spanking part, just wondering who what when and where I can change that status)

What is this purity test and where can I take it?

Thanks!

OK...let's see if I can answer these questions....I'm a new wench myself, and don't know nearly enough yet! But here goes....

From what I can see, karma is given to you by other members (probably for a variety of reasons...don't know all the specifics there.) I just clicked on your +, and gave you +1 karma. :D

"Brand Spanking New" means you have made less than 10 posts (I think it's 10....) As you post more, your "rank" will go up. ("Forum Newbie" is next, then "Forum Freak."t.)

Here's the URL for the purity test: http://members.tripod.com/~whitedragon/renpure.html .

Hope that helps.

You're a good wench! Oh hell... you're a great wench!!!

Thanks for all the help. Where are you located? I'm stuck in the third hole of the bible belt... right under the buckle ... also known as North Alabama.

But I'm running with a Druid, Pirate Fencer and a Chewtoy-in-Training (he wishes) so ... so far.... so good.

How about you?

scored 60.5 Faire Folk Corrupt, 30.5 Fiare Folk Pure.

Corrupt is definitely more fun!

That was fun. Thanks for sending me the link.

Why thank you! You're a good wench too! We all have to start somewhere....I've found that I'm picking up things pretty quick, and everyone here is very friendly and willing to answer questions from those of us new to the wonderful world of wenches.

I'm in Tucson, AZ--hotter than hell, but otherwise a nice place (I go to UofA, which is right here in town.) There don't seem to be too many AZ wenches, but they're out there (I haven't met any in person yet.) I'm lucky that my fiance is into this stuff too--as soon as I can afford it, I'm getting him a membership for the IBRSC--not to mention he looks fabulous in a kilt!

I'm not sure what your local chapter is--but I'm positive other here do. (If you've gotten your membership kit, it should be on your card.)

My husband was interviewing for a job in Tucson one year. They flew us out and while he was in the interview with the other engineers, real estate agents divided up the spouses and took us around trying to interest us in the area and show us possible places to live.

It was May 1st and 105 DEGREES. I was sucking down water fast as I could and I still managed to get heat stroke. And the woman actually kept saying ... "but it's a DRY heat!" To which I informed her (from my prone position with my extremely red face and cracked bloodless lips) that "So is the inside of my oven, but I wouldn't want to live there!"

Where I come from we have the other problem... it's a WET heat. I grew up with Gills instead of lungs. Anybody who can live in the desert (especially from April through October), has my utmost respect.

Yeah... got my membership pack yesterday actually. Been reading through the manual. I'm part of IWG Local 74. I don't think we have a chapter in my area. Might have to start one pretty soon. I keep running into some great wenches here... they're not 'formal wenches' but the potential is there to have a really good chapter I think.

I told the president and the instructor at our club that I want to be the Huntsville Fencing Club P.R. Wench. (that was the actual title I want on my business card). They just about dropped their drawers (which I consider an appropriate response to a declaration by a wench). They couldnt' believe that a modern day woman would want to be called a wench.... so I set about instructing them on their absymal ignorance. Now that I have my Free Kiss cards, I'll have to see what I can do to win them over to my way of thinking about that position.

I think I'm going to like this wencing stuff. Never knew there was a name for what I did/do naturally. I love to flirt with men. Especially when they get that initial 'deer in teh headlight' look on their face at something I said.

Good for you and good luck with those business cards!

There's a big difference between wet heat and dry heat and it does take a long time to adjust from one to the other. You'll either feel like an air-dried mummy or drowning! :P

Welcome to the madness, from a wench up north (but our summers are miserable too)!

I've been in the VERY dry AZ heat for almost 2 years now...and I still feel like an air-dried mummy! I have pretty bad eczema, sensitive skin, the whole 9 yards. (I was previously living in extreme northern CA.) I go through endless pots of Cetaphil cream...My acne definitely took a turn for the worse here at first (thank heavens for Proactiv!!!) It's not good for my clarinets either--I have to make sure to keep humidifiers in the cases. Even so, my Eb clarinet actually shrunk enough due to moisture being sucked out of it that the tenon rings are loose now (sorry, clarinet technical talk. Trust me, that's not good!) But all in all, it's managable--I really enjoy living in Tucson. The AZRF is great!!

Hey Belle--
How long did it take you to get your package? I'm waiting...waiting....waiting....

Also, I understand the gills part. I grew up on the Bay (Chesapeake, baby), and have a love/hate relationship with summer...and the humidity. I went out to South Dakota for two summers, and the dry heat there made me sick. I had to drink, like, eight gazillion gallons of water just to keep hydrated. It was crazy. :irked:

Trying to remember, but I think it took about a month to 6 weeks. I've been travelling like a fiend lately so my time sense is pretty hosed.

Yeah.. know what you mean about humitidy vs dry. I moved from Gulfport MS/New Orleans to Los Angeles. I was literally taking 6 showers a day and practically douching in moisturizer trying to keep hydrated and my lips and skin were cracking like crazy. Even my lungs hurt (and not just from the smog)

Good thing about being back in teh south is my skin finally straightened out and I don't look like Lizard Woman any more.

Belle

Of course, my hair is nor MUCH poofier than it used to be <sigh>. Humidity is the REAL reason that women in the south wear 'Big Hair'. It's not just a fashion statement.

Living in Florida, yup on the big hair! Also, the more northern folks don't understand moving slower is actually a survival tatic. If you move slow you don't melt into a puddle near as fast. :D

Try Lush's "BIG" shampoo. I'm hooked--it's amazing. (I like to top it off with Veganese conditioner.)

Unless you're on your way to a pucking... the rogues seemed to enjoy watching you heave and gasp for breath.

And I can relate to the big hair. curls... oh dear lord in heaven you don't wanna see me on a bad humidity day. Of course, it's either frizz from hell, or flat and stringy on those high humidity days. ~L~

Try Lush's Coolaulin conditioner--it's for curly hair. The smell is incredible, but it just doesn't work on my extremely fine, straight hair.

Greetings from the Local 74 Madame, Psyche.
There is no chapter in Alabama as yet... last I had heard we were a Georgia only Local, but that may have changed without my knowledge. We had wanted to emcompass the South, but had been told "No, only Georgia".
Have you plans on coming to GARF, Local 74 home faire? It runs until the first weekend of June, with Invasion being Memorial Day Weekend.

Bleh, humidity... :blech: I sympathize with my fellow curly-haired sisters. I have that frizzy curly scottish hair that tends to NEVER look nice. I'm always tying it up, since I never go get it cut (which is probably not helping the frizz factor). I grew up on the water, and it was terrible. I never have found an easy quick solution for the little curls around my face.

Ys--I just remembered you said he was in the hospital. No offense to him--I'm a damn impatient little wench.... Need to work on that...

Fear not. If it doesn't show up in the next two or three weeks, let me know and I'll get on him about it. But he said he had upwards of 40 packets waiting to go out, so keep your fingers crossed!

Hey, I will gladly wait, all in the name of more wenches! If my waiting is due to a larger increase in our numbers, I shall humbly wait my turn! I am good at waiting, nay, I am GREAT at waiting!! I'm the most patient wench of all the wenches. My patience is sought after by all.....

Madame Psyche,

I didn't know about GARF, but as that's the weekend my husband is supposed to come off of contract and move home after 9 months in the wilds of Orlando, I kinda got my hands full (if I'm lucky... so will he  )

I would love to get with some of the GA Wenches and see about maybe forming up a chapter over here in NAL.

What else is going on in our area? I know about the RennFaire in TN. A bunch of us are going there on Memorial Day Weekend.

Myf,

I'll definitely look for the LUSH shampoos. I'm currently using the Freida for Redheads. Helps keep me from looking like I'm bleeding to death every time I take a shower/wash my hair.

But always on the lookout for something to make this stuff work better

Emma,

You're Clan Gunn?

Are we realllllllly distant kin somehow?
