Ember, yours is prolly on the way, or will be soon. The Guild Scribe lost a week or two due to a nasty fall, but he's recuperating and shipping stuff out as quick as he can.

Having said that, it couldn't hurt to go back to the Lundegaard site and drop a querying email, gently requesting an update on your pin. You never know-- it might have gone astray in the mail!

And welcome!

Well, you're a Guild member no matter where you are. You need a certain number to have a Hostel or do a Walk. What would you like to do?

What's the minimum for a Walk? We're hoping to do one at RitP next weekend. (I'm thinking we're going to have 8-10 or so...I'm assuming that's enough.)

At PARF, it's six. I'm guessing there's a Guild minimum, but I can't remember, for the life of me. Hm. Let me look into it, and I'll post.

There's also a minimum number of Mercs needed as guards for the Walk, but we have our Rogues-- not that we need guarding at present, as we Walk with the cast in the procession to Chess. I think it's one guard per two or three Wenches. And remember, it's not cos Wenches can't take care of themselves, it's cos there are some stupid patrons out there who don't know Wenches can take care of themselves!

Make sure faire management is aware that you want to Walk....let them know what's involved. If you're going to need their permission, make sure you get it.

Have any of the Wenches involved ever been on a Walk before? It's greatly helpful if you have at least one 'seasoned' Wench to act as Walk Sergeant to keep the Wenches moving, keep the song flowing, monitor progress of the Walk past any shows that are going on (the last thing you want to do is walk by a show singing loudly and interrupt a show)...make sure everyone has a song verse (depending on what song you're planning on singing)...that any faire regs regarding garb are covered, orchestrating the selection of those to be Wenched and so on......

Unless someone has been doing her homework already, I would say a walk is out. There really isn't time to get it sanctioned by the head of Local 35 (which we fall under) or the Festival or to round up qualified guards. I don't know who all will be there so I can't say if we have anyone qualified to lead a walk. I've been on enough walks to know what is entailed with leading and being in charge of one but I'm not sanctioned by the Local to do so and, again, know enough to know I don't want the responsibility. There are too many things that can go wrong.
