Hi! I'm new here on the boards, and hopefully, soon, the guild. I just sent in my registration earlier in the week. I've been going to faire for many years sometimes dressing (not really period. ever.) and sometimes not, but I'm a total newbie as a wench. I'm not sure I can even tell you how excited I've been about this lately. I'm hoping to make an attempt at sewing a skirt this weekend. I mean, I've owned a sewing machine for years.. I need to use it sometime, right?!

Oh and the name I go by is Ciani, which is pronounced Cee-Ah-Nee. Real name: Carrie. I am from Massachusetts, and I will always consider it home even when I have another. I live in the Cleveland area of Ohio now so the faires I'll attend this season will be around in this area unless I can figure out timing for a road trip to King Richard's. I haven't been to that one in a few years and I miss it so!

Please feel free to contact me. I'd love to meet some of you!

Hey girl!! Welcome on board. I don't know how much you can travel, but there is EMMF--Endless Mountains Medieval Festival going on now in Wilkes-Barre PA. It's only the second year that festival has been going on, and its really great!! I went yesterday, and Clannan Drumma was AWESOME. Also, there is a faire in Pittsburgh (I think, right girls?), and one near Lancaster Pa. They are not too close, but they are all really fun.

Anyway, welcome!! I'm pretty new, too, so I can just tell you how much fun it is from about a month's experience. But I'm sure you'll find out how great all these people are!! :D

Hey I've been having fun on the boards so far! :) I'm not sure about the Wilkes-Barre trip, but I think I can make it to the Pittsburgh one. It's only a couple hours drive. I actually have in my mind the one in Pittsburgh, the MI ren faire, the Ohio ren faire, and the Great lakes one. I really want to go to the celtic fling but I don't know anyone at all so an overnight trip might be a little much yet. My friends here aren't much for the dressing up and going to faire :? But hey! That's why I'll just make more who are :D I can't wait to meet some of you!

Hey there Ciani! If you have sent your registration in to Lars, you then, my dear, ARE an official Wench. A Wench In Postage (WIP) has all the right to call herself a member of the IWG. Welcome, welcome!

Also, since you are in Ohio, you also fall into Local #57, of which I am The Vice Madame. We have our own Yahoo group as well, so we can keep up on the doing and plannings of what we are planning to do at Faire.

I will send you a PM with the link :)

Thanks to everyone for all of the warm welcomes. I joined the yahoo group over the weekend, and I've just been trying to figure out when I can go where. Again, it will be great to meet some of you! You all seem like so much fun.

Hello Ciani!! So nice to meet a fellow wench from MA. I am originally from Boston.
Displaced down here in Kentucky, but I love it here. Still as you say Boston will always be my home My daughter Lucy and I are both in the Wench Guild and we go to the KRF every labor day, well about three times so far for me anyway, but we plan on going this year as well so hope to see you! If you go let us know :D

Oh by the way my other daughter works at the KRF along with her fiance' and a few other friends of ours so you probably have seen them if you've been there within the last few years.

Ah have fun at KRF! I don't know if I will make it this year. I am almost assured that I need to make a trip home for a weekend this summer, but I don't know if I'll have the time to get out othe faire.. HMM. I'll have to see what I can do :)
