Maybe Palisades Mall? Or another idea might be a park...we could picnic the meeting, that might be really nice.

I did think about a park, but we would have to plan in advance, and what would we do if it rained??
As for the Palasaides, I would want to pick a place more central, for those traveling from the south.

Well there was some mention of a mall, if anyone wants to do Rockaway NJ mall, hell just come on over to my house!! it's only 1/2 mile away, and I've got a decent sized place!!

Central NJ is probably going to be the best option for a meeting place...something easily accessible from Parkway, 287, TP, etc.

Too bad I'm part of 69, but out here in the hinterlands - I'd love a meeting, but won't come east just for that... I'm still woring on getting a local here!

Um...just for FYI in case ya needed it...
I can get a permit for any NY Park (Central Park Included) for a Wench Local gathering and it does include back up rain days. At least, I have that ability until my friend's last day with the Parks Department. :)
With the amount of Wenches that may show, I'm thinking someone's home may be a) too small and b) a really big undertaking. It may be easier to just gather round in a nice area (say, north of the Great Lawn, where there are pretty shady trees) bring a dish for a nice potluck lunch and not worry about someone's home being all disheveled afterwards, etc. etc.
I have been drooling over the notion of having a Local 69 meeting just because there ARE so many of us...I'd like to get to meet and/or know my fellow 69ers. And because i think that we, too can contribute to being a great positive force within the Wenches guild and I'd like to know the people nearby who may feel the same way.

Rocket - do we have a list anywhere of the actual Local 69 members? Not all of them post to the site, remember, so it might be good if we could all (those who post) commit to assisting in reaching the ladies who are not active on the boards.

For those of you who don't know, I've got a pretty darn big yard out here too. When we had the last Adventures Unlimited Conclave here there was about 150 or so. 500 is pretty darn big!! But the offer still stands.

Well if you need help Rocket in contacting wenches, I will most definitely help. I like the idea of meeting in a central location. The NY City idea is nice but, we would have to meet early in the day. I would opt for a place that we can stay in safely till after dark if we choose. That is not to say that the City isn't safe but some people may not be used to it at night and that is not fair to them if they have to leave early to feel get home safely. Just my 2 cents.

Would love to attend if possible. I'm Rockland County, so am hoping for something within a couple of hours drive - difficult to get away - have Mom living with us and she is not well.
First time I've registered with the site, though have been a member for awhile now, and a faire attendee for 20+ years, though a wench at heart for much longer....
Any sister wenches in Rockland? Perhaps we could have a mini-meeting, or would that be circumventing the pecking order? Don't want to step on anyone's toes...
Have NEVER gone on a Wench Walk, and am hoping to do so for the first time this Faire - eager to find out the details of any plans - I'm Tux...

No meeting time or place has been set yet. I wanted to update the data base first, so we could contact many more people about it. Our first big meeting won't been until after the season is over.
There is no reason why wenches should not congregate on their own. Small groups can come up with some great ideas. If you generate any questions, let me know. And if you come up with any suggestions, certainly let me know that too.
Before season officially starts, I'll be posting a time and meeting place for the walks.
Not too much longer now ladies!!
