Okay this is just too funny. I stumbled on this link today, which listed actual questions asked of travel agents. This one in particular sent me rolling:
A woman called and asked, "Do airlines put your physical description on your bag so they know who's luggage belongs to who?" I said, "No, why do you ask?" She replied, "Well, when I checked in with the airline, they put a tag on my luggage that said FAT, and I'm overweight, is there any connection?" After putting her on hold for a minute while I "looked into it" (I was actually laughing) I came back and explained the city code for Fresno is FAT, and that the airline was just putting a destination tag on her luggage.
And here are the rest of the entries. Enjoy! http://www.strangeplaces.net/weirdthings/travel.html

Travel makes people insecure, apparently. FAT indeed.
These are exactly what I needed today!

I live in Fresno. I have a trucking company here and we also take frieght to various airlines. All of our offices are designated by the airport terminal they are near, IE:Los Angeles=LAX , Newark=EWR, Tampa=TPA, etc. Fresno has now changed the name of the airport to Fresno-Yosemite International. Since I openend my office I asked if we could PLEASE be called FYI instead of FAT. I tried to explain to them all that a female logistics manager (there aren't many, mostly a male dominated business), who is chubby, really feels bad when FAT is listed after her name. They (mostly men) all laughed. Since the airport codes never change, even if the name of the airport does,I was told if I could talk the FAA into changing it then fine, I could be called FYI.:augh: Needless to say, I am still Karen Wells-FAT :wah:
