Will have better details after this Sunday's meeting, but it looks like the Wenches/Rogues Gather on Friday evening at 4 - we have the dinner hour and after for wench and rogue shows - so ...Gather at 4, Wench at 5 Rogue at 6. It looks like we'll have at least 4 Pinned Rogues, so we need to come up with ideas for them on ROgue Eye.
How do we want those Mundane boys trained ladies? COme up with topics for the ROgues to teach.
Bob won't be able to make it for anything of Friday...just FYI...not that he's "pinned" anywho...

UPDATE
THe Wenching 101 and Rogue Eye for the Mundane Guy panels have been moved to 7 pm on Saturday just after Wonderful Wench Wendy does her panel on Elizabethan - Inside out. SHe'll start in her knickers and get dressed piece by piece into a full Elizabethan court gown. explaining it as she goes. Since the Lady is also a Wench we follow with our panel.
We're still doing Jail and Bail - times have not been set for that yet. More details hopefully this weekend.
Katerinka Kotenoka

Yeah! And there I was scared/bugged by Chris saying that the panels were gonna be Friday evening.
Please tell me that Wonderful Wench Wendy will be having help putting on her Elizabethan court gown. I don't want to be fainting from the thought of a wench doing all that by herself.
So.. since I don't have any tempting food to hold me right now... what can I do to help?
Tinkerwench
07-13-2005, 08:20 AM
Trina - right now, your job is to be part of the "jail bait" for the jail and bail. Until then - just be ready to help with the Wench panel by being a demonstrator. I'll try to have a polished copy of our notes from last year available soon for anyone who'd like a copy.
And what do I get to do??
Are they still only giving T-shirts away for our volunteer time or will we be able to get discount passes or something?
Yes! Notes would be great so those of us who can't make meetings can be in the loop too! :D You're so good!
Lucy
Tinkerwench

THe policy stands that volunteers must work at least 4 hours to get a free T-shirt. If you participate in the Wench panel, Opening ceremonies and do at leat 2 hours of Jail and Bail - that's the t-shirt.
No one get's a discount entry. CHris and I paid full entry fees last year and will do the same this year.
Any problems you have with this should be directed to the Convention COmmittee proper as it was their decision.
THe notes I was speaking of were the power point presentation that I did for last year's panel Lucy, just so those who don't know what we're up to can get an idea. We'll do a repeat with some updated info and polish the Rogues performance this year. SInce there are more wenches and rogues it should be much more fun. AND! I put a warning on the panels that Wenches and Rogues are involved in that we are PG 13. Had one tiny complaint last year that there wasn't a warning. SHould be safe to go to the level we went to last year.
The actual programming meetings, you aren't missing much. Mostly at this point it's fill in the holes in the programming grid and finalize what we need.

Hell no - there are places I can't reach!
I asked Ariyanna Dragonwagon to help me out, since she's helped get me into that outfit before, and she's rooming with me at the con.
Of course, if there are any willing rogues who want to tie a girl up....

That makes it a lot easier (on Saturday night); I was thinking that we wouldn't have an apportunity to get together and talk about stuff before it got pulled off, so that's primarily why I suggested getting together on the weekend of the 23rd.
Will there be a minute to touch base on Friday re: our part in things? Nothing terribly long or elaborate... just to make sure we're all on the same page.
That may be a little easier (and postpone the meeting of the 23rd if everyone wishes) because it seems like eveyone is quite busy at this time (inderstandably so!)
I'm still a "go" for the Jail-N-Bail Offical Jail Bait team! As long as you need me!
Can I still claim some floor space in the suite, if it's okay?

No worries Lucy, it's just a sore spot with all of us right now. THey won't even comp Wendy's fee and she's FLYING in from CHicago for us. SHEESH!
Not sure about the day pass - will ask Meg about it and let you know.
THe Gather is still set for Friday - we have lots of open meeting rooms on Friday so far. And space in my room if it comes to that.
Allie - you're welcome to crash - we're just asking peeps to pitch in a bit toward the room and remember - smoker's room. If you've got air matress - bring it - there's plenty of room for that.
And I'll make sure Chris has his breather machine - no snoring - yech.
and Trina - remind me to email the one address I got from those folk from Border raids - I think I got the wench and rogue's.

Marty and I will not be able to go to the Con, we had some things come up and are short on cash :( . Hopefully we will be back on track for the Ohio Renn faire. Sorry guys, but having to buy for four does get expensive. I know you guys will have a blast, make lots of pictures for us.

With Marty and Nicole out - that leaves us a Rogue short. I do have a friend from the SCA who is thinking of coming down. He's Chris' counterpart in the theatre troup and an absolute blast. Un Rogue-like but a true gentleman and funny. Must talk to him more next weekend at the next performance. His wife is thinking of giving a panel on the history and art of flirting. How to take wenching to a higher level!

LOL! So anywho...he and his wifey live here in Louisville and I told him all about the Con so I'm hoping to get them there too! :)

Well, do to some strange way, I cannot afford they're registration fee. Don't ask, I haven't totally recalculated my check book, just glance from it to the papers the bank sent me. Seeing as I would never go to a convention like this anyways if I wasn't in it (too lazy, and only care about the simple pleasure of books and movies) they're going to have to deal with me volenteering and keep their fucking shirt. I'm sorry, but if they cannot deal with me raising money for the chairity we're supporting (which one is it?), they can ignore me at the jail.
And howdy Isolde de Ely. Nice to see another in the local.
ConGlom can blow it out thier fucking ass, I have more pressing things to think about that actually have to do with real life.

Consider yourself taken out of the line up for anything. If this is your attitude - we don't want you there.
I can't afford this either. Last year I volunteered, paid my way and did 13 panels. We were invited, as a local to do this. I'm sure there will be other events in the future that the guild will be asked to participate that will also involve some sort of out of pocket expense on our part.
I'm sorry that you feel this way and I'm sorry that you chose a public forum to blast something I have been working on for a year now.
And furthernore - We have a Wench from all the way in CHicago -paying her own airfaire and hotel to come and volunteer for this event. You should be ashamed of yourself for being so petty.
Okay, I know there are hard feelings about ConGlom and their lack of wanting to give passes for volunteering. I feel jipped to a point also, but the brutally honest truth is that we can't do a good goddamn about it. Either we go and have fun with everyone or we don't. Period.
Trina, I totally understand your aggravation...but next time maybe just blast an e-mail over to the ConGlom people and let them know how you feel...lol.
To everyone: If anyone has an issue, please take it to PM or e-mail and not on the public board.
I'm not taking sides....just the moderator here. :)

For all the newbies who don't know me - my cell phone will be firmly attached to me at the con - 502-939-8077. You may ask for Tinker from any of the staff, I'm on the programming staff - they should know me. It's my mundane nickname(actaully maiden name for those who don't know)
You may also ( at your own risk) ask for Rogue Eric McTavish aka Chris Lemke - he's the hubby and also on the programming staff.
We will be there at the con opening on Friday and probably there helping set up on Thursday evening after we get off work. Volunteers to help set up meeting rooms are always welcome.
We will be having a meet and greet on Friday evening for those who are there. CHeck your con program for a listing of when and where. Use the cell number above to call me before the con if you like.
Look forward to meeting all the new wenches!

Lucy, don't worry about me. I got paid today... but then I paid my bills, not as much as I'd like left. I'm guessing that a convention is like a theme park without the rides. But if I don't get to know this, no problem I'll take ya'lls word for it. I love faires, I love SCA, however, I'm cheap. I know what the opinion of paying to educate others, same here. If I don't end up there this weekend, then you know that I wish it all well (except that the person who won't budge on workers paying breaks something). And if I'm not there, I'll just be laying down at home because I underestimated my response to the discogram.

yeah but we might all want to coordinate just a bit...to make our group LOOK together lol and I admit I have been wondering about bring clothes to change into for Sat after all the panels.. or whether everyone plans to stay in garb???
We will likely not be there till later Friday night, since he has to work at least a full day (lots of fridays seem to be OT sigh especially if we have somewhere to go!) then will have to pack car, feed all of us then drive (or stop to eat on the way but with Breena it means sit down and takes longer than before!)
We had been wondering about dinner Saturday night.. since that seems to be the night we will all be around... and with the times of our panels... an early dinner or a late one maybe???

Friday – the Con opens at noon. I will be near the front registration desk as I’ll be working the screening room until 3 when I have a panel.
After the 5 pm dinner break – From 6 to 7 pm The Wenches and Rogues have the ballroom for a gather. I will go into detail on the Jail and Bail duties, the Wench panel and the Masquerade duties. For those who cannot attend the gather – due to you not being there yet – we can meet up later in the evening in the con suite or in my room to get you up to date on the proceedings.
At 7 I must do the Duct Tape Bodice panel followed by opening ceremonies.
Not sure about Chris schedule – but I’m free after that until 10 when I need to check in on Who’s Line is it Anyway to see if they need actors.
Saturday: This is the beginning of a LONG day for me. (and in a bodice!)
At 9 am I will meet with the Kid Con folk – they need 3 wench/rogues in piratey garb for the Kid Con treasure hunt. We will meet at 9 to discuss pirate duties.
Jail and Bail will probably begin at 10 and run til 4-ish. I have several panels that I must duck out to and back to J&B. If every one puts in an hour or 2 we should cover it with no problems.
5 pm is dinner break
6-7 is the Elizabethan panel with Wendy.
7-8 Wench and Rogue – we will be demonstrating proper wench behavior such as proper kilt checks – kissing marks, etc… Lucy – pretty much same as last year – we just have more wenches! The Rogues will demonstrate …whatever.
At 8 pm the Masquerade begins with a Mini Masquerade. The Kid Con kids make a costume from scrap stuff in the hour before the show – The Wenches and Rogues have been asked to escort them parade style into the masquerade and intro them.
Masquerade Half Time Show. We have been asked to provide 30 minutes of wenchy and rougey type stuff. I’d like to demonstrate a wenching from someone in the audience – pre-arranged of course. And maybe more Rogue eye stuff.
Midnite is Rocky Horror = if I’ve not passed out at that point.
I’m free after Masquerade until the next day at 11 when I have another panel.
Not nearly as labor intensive as last year for me (I did 13 panels) but I will be on the run all day Saturday.
Chris and I both will have cell phones glued to hip for duration of con – the staff has to get a hold of us too. If looking for us, and you can’t find us – ask for PROGRAMMING STAFF members – they will know who we are and where to find us.
I think that covers it. I’m not allowed to access this site from work anymore so you’ll have to wait till after work to reach me via the board or phone.
Now – back to my regularly scheduled breakdown………

Um... what are the words I'm looking for? Oh yeah, I remember... Bloody Hell, holy shit! Uh.. I don't think I understood before that this thing took that long. Maybe that's why the only things I've done in the past were more .... sedate? Remind me to bring my pills! And ... does anyone have anything like a billy stick for to beat the prisoners with? No Tinker, the balaying pin's too heavy on one end. Wait...can I beat the prisoners?

I was planning to wear different corsets for the three days. I love doing that for conventions - though with one I generally wear zipper pants that unzip really high, and add black wings. I always get pictures taken :) With all of them, not just the demoness.
However, I can wear skirts as well, if that would convey a better, more wench-y image.
I should be there Friday, since I am local - I'm just not too sure when. If you have a color preference, my corset colors are green-slightly metallic, burgundy with black trim, black leather, and royal blue with embroidery. I can wear them in any order :) if we're trying to match.

Um... what are the words I'm looking for? Oh yeah, I remember... Bloody Hell, holy shit! Uh.. I don't think I understood before that this thing took that long. Maybe that's why the only things I've done in the past were more .... sedate? Remind me to bring my pills! And ... does anyone have anything like a billy stick for to beat the prisoners with? No Tinker, the balaying pin's too heavy on one end. Wait...can I beat the prisoners?
Well Trina, this is why we had planned on making you and Lori the "Jail Bait" 2 lovely ladies to man the jail and tourcher the prisoners (and let them out when their time was up) there will be a chairs and all so no running about for you (unless you want to that is)!
This goes for the Wench and Rogues show and all as well, nothing too strenuous. We WONT ask anyone to work themselves to the bone (well maybe I'll ask that of someone.. ) this is all volunteer, we appreciate your help (all of you) and, in truth, need it, but we want everyone to have fun as well!
As for dinner and all Tink and I are "on duty" in the evenings, although my "duty" my require me to sample all the drinks offered at all the room parties, we had planned on having a nice little Pizza party Saturday night in our room and maybe one Friday night as well so we can all have some fun together!
As for Garb and All we only ask that if you plan on taking part in the Jail and Bail, and/or help out with the Wench and Rogue shows you be in your normal Renfaire Garb! Otherwise wear whatever you want! Enjoy, Be comfortable!
Some highlights for the con (now that I have my program):
Friday:
6-7pm - Wench and Rogues gathering
7-8pm - How to make a duct tape bodice pattern (Tink is doing this panel)
10-midnight - Sci-Fi Whos line is it anyway? (Tink and I are stand-by actors for this should be a really fun show!)
12am-2am- Buffy Sing along! A Rocky Horror type showing of the infamous Musical Buffy episode
Saturday
10- To whenever we feel like ending it but no later than 7pm - Jail and Bail, as long as we have 2 folks (more would be good but at least 2) covering this everyone should have a chance to do any of the panels or shopping thy would like!
10-11am - Belly Dance Lessons (a very good local professional troop give lessons in basic belly dancing) (note there will be some "security" so there will be no "lookie-loos" the only people in the room are those interested in learning no observers.
3 - 5 pm - So you’re a virgin, learning the Rocky Horror Show (we're showing the Rocky Horror show at midnight!)
7 - 8pm - Wench and Rogue show this leads into the Masquerade that runs from 8 till whenever
Now these are just a small sampling of things I thought might be of some interest... there will also be movies running 24 hours in our screening room, Filk (sci-fi fantasy folk singing) and Jam sessions late into the night, A venders market for shopping (over 100 venders) an Art show, charity art auction, anime, a 24 hour hospitality suite with drinks and munchies, and not to forget the room parties Friday and Saturday night.
I hope everyone has a great time
HUZZAHHH!!! Belly dancing finally!!!!!!!! Hope they actually show up this year... I was sadly disappointed to have missed out last year. WHOOT!!!

Ooh - belly-dancing! Such a nice stretch before corseting!
Yeah - I'll be in Friday after the initial gather-ing, so I'll touch base when I get in and channge out of "normal" clothes".
I'd be up for pizza on Sat, prolly after Masquerade. Tink - who are the other judges?
I am looking forward to meeting all the folks I don't already know yet.

Well...
I've got some news. I don't know yet how it's going to play out.
I just had to put $182 in my van today. 32 oz. of freon and an oil change.
I have to pay my parents back. I'm going to talk with them more tomorrow, but they're having money problems, too, and I can't spend $50 on gas and $35 on my admission with a clear conscience for the weekend.
I'm going to talk with them about it tomorrow, but don't hold your breath. Put me down for a very shaky, tenative "maybe" for the weekend.
*sigh*

Oh okay... torture but not beat. *long suffering sigh* If I can't beat them, I guess torturing will have to do.
Can you guess what kinda mood I'm in? *twisted little laugh*

Consider this your official warning.
Lucy Buckles and I found out today that we wlll be losing our respective jobs.
I for one intend to mark the occasion by getting drunkity-drunk-drunk. (when my duties permit, of course)
I suspect we will require much rogue-ish support as well.
Boy this ought to be fun...lol

Well, I'm home safe and I wanted to thank everyone who went out of their way to make me feel very welcome. I had a wonderful time, got lots of very positive comments, and was generally quite glad that I hiked down to see y'all! (see - been practicin')
Special thanks shoudl also be passed on to the Rogues as well, for giving a visiting wench a very warm welcome indeed. (mmmmm)
I miss you all, but hope that my aim is improving.
I have already received some photos but since I am terrible with names I am not sure who they are from. A couple shots of all of us at Rocky Horror, so if any of you want copies, let me know - got a couple so far of the "chorus line".
Some talk was being made about an expedition to Bristol at some point. I wanted to relay that while my apartment is very small, I have a sofa bed and can arrange crash space for visiting wenches and Rogues. I live about 45 minutes from site. I'd also be up for joining in on the fun - hitching a ride because I don't have a car. With a firm count (firm enough that i will be laying down cash in advance so don;t lie to me) I can probably swing a mess 'o' half-price tix was well.
*thud*
Glad to hear you made it home okay Wendy! I'm SO glad we got to hang out this weekend...you were an absolute WEALTH of valuable info to me on Saturday with your panel! Thanks a bunch! :)
Trenka! YAY! I'm so glad you came and had fun with us too! And Mum and Bob and Ariyanna and and and...okay. EVERYONE was great! I had a BLAST! Here's some photos of the fun! (edited for Wendy's nudity) LOL.

I really enjoyed meeting everyone and having fun, and leaving marks :)
My Livejournal entry (if you're curious)
http://www.livejournal.com/users/isolde_deely/73327.html
and I'll try to get my pictures out of my camera soon, too, so you can see.
I had a lot of fun, and learned a lot from our most experienced Wenches and Rogues (though not as much as I'm sure they <the Rogues> wanted to learn) And, I had a lot of fun hanging out and dragging miscreants off to jail too. I definitely want to keep doing this.
I loved the art, though I'm more fantasy, Eric. :)
The green, blue brocades, and burgundy corseted wench, Isolde :meow:
:grouphug: Y'all did a great job
