I know this is nothing in comparison to what most of which is posted in this category...but I just wanted to vent, because this is really irking me. I lost my stupid driver's license, and now I have to deal with going down to the MVD to get another tomorrow. Great...I'm going to spend my day waiting in line.
Knowing me, I'll probably end up finding it as soon as I get another. Murphy's Law (or something like it...)
Thanks for listening to me bitch.

Hey Myfanawy,
Your Profile said Arizona so ( if you live in a different state now just Google the MVD office for your state)before you schlep down to the MVD go online to:
http://www.azdot.gov/mvd/Menuonlineservices.asp
You can fill out all the forms to get your duplicate license. You don't have to know your drivers license number either, they have a form you fill out which requires a little more info but you don't need the number. I'm not sure if you still have to go down to get a photo. I renew online in PA and you get a temporary license that you can print out and the DMV (it's the DMV in PA) sends you a photo card in the mail that you go to the DMV office with... it saves a lot of time.
GOOD LUCK

I hate going to the DMV waiting forever in line. Sorry I know it sucks.

Thanks ladies!
Doxie--thanks for the tip. But, I suppose this might have happened for a reason--I hate my DL picture anyways, so maybe it's a sign it's finally time for a new one.

OK, I'm pissed. I just drove all the way out to the stupid MVD, only to find out that they're CLOSED today, because of the July 4th holiday on Monday. What kind of crap is that?! Now, I can't do a damn thing all weekend--a friend from out of town is visiting another friend of mine here, and we wanted to go out....now I can't do anything until Tuesday, by which time she'll be gone.
Again, I know this is small beans compared to everything else that goes on in this category...I'm just really frustrated, and need to vent. :vent: Thanks for listening.

Feel free to vent. We only have the dmv open here one day a week. So if we need somethng done in a hurry, we have to go down to the valley for it. I know we have one dmv open on saturdays. They have limited services there though. Maybe you will find your license. Did you....um.... check the freezer?
You see when i can't find things, I usually find them in the freezer.

Oh man, that sucks they're only open one day a week for you.
And you know, I think the cat might have hidden it...she's probably come up with a much stealthier place than the freezer (she's too smart for my own good...)

I used to have a cat like that. She used to steal my glasses. She would pick them up by the bridge piece (is that what it is called?) and carry them off. I would spend hours trying to find them. I think she used to rehide them while I was looking for them. Considering that I am near sighted, must have been easy for her to do. Putting them in a case didn't stop her from taking them. She would either open it, or take them case & all.
If your cat helped you with your license.......Did you check the window sills, on top of the cupboards, places like that?

I doubt it actually was her--she's never been the type to hide my stuff. (Or maybe that's just what she'd like me to think....) I suppose I should check anyways... I had a friend who's cat used to hide EVERYTHING important of hers--she cancelled all her credit cards and got new ones, new DL, etc., everything at least twice...then one day, while cleaning out a closet, discovered a stash of cat toys in the back at the corner, along with almost 2 complete wallets worth of stuff (including cash), and other assorted items that had gone missing.
