Idiots. Policy regarding funding to clinics in other countries is basically that no funding is given if any method of birth control other than abstinence is taught/used. Idiots.

The USA can be extreamly backwards in some respects while being very forward in others. You may be getting orders from us to ship us the "morning after" pill before too long.

Please, please, please give/do what you can for NARAL and Planned Parenthood. Become a member, or, if you can't swing that, at least go to their online action sites and send an email. I posted some links in the thread about Justice O'Connor-- if anyone needs more, just tell me.

Sisters are going to have to do this themselves, because G-d knows, our government won't.

I'm honestly nervous that they're going to try and take away our birth control at some point down the road. If they did, I'd be screwed (well, actually, I wouldn't, because then abstinence WOULD be my only option...) I wouldn't put it past 'em.

I'd never personally trust a condom alone as a method of birth control (I made mention in another post about how a friend of mine got pregnant as the result of a broken condom), but in terms of preventing the spread of STDs, that's really the only option (besides abstinence, and how realistic is that?)
