The Ecological Footprint estimates how much land and water people need to support what they use and absorb what they discard. The Footprint Quiz figures out your footprint, and then lets you compare it to what other people use and to what is available on this planet.

Check it out! Its quite an eye-opener. :-(

wow... I knew I took up space, but 2.2 planets worth???? Makes you sit back and think!

At least I take up a slightly smaller footprint than the average Chicagoan. Now if we could afford to buy an acre or so, build the house we've designed, put up a windmill generator, and have a decent size garden, I would be much happier. Still need to win the lottery, tho.

Mine was under the national average, but still kinda high (21 or 4.7 planets)........... most of it comes from the apartment I live in (not too energy efficient), and the food I eat (meat and processed foods). Makes you wish there were more farmer's markets around.......

My footprint was 18; not great but still under the average of 24 in this country.
