Not quite sure how exactly I feel about this (http://my.att.net/s/editorial.dll?pnum=1&bfromind=7406&eeid=6416980&_sitecat=1522&dcatid=0&eetype=article&render=y&ac=-2&ck=&ch=ne&rg=blsadstrgt&_lid=332&_lnm=tg+ne+topnews&ck=). On one hand I think that it's awesome that a document such as this one was found, however it's now in a Private Collector's possession rather than that of the State or the Government.
Should such an important document be permitted to remain in a Private collection or should it belong to the State/Government and be placed on public display?

An item such as the Declaration of Independence should belong to the People and that would mean to a point that it should belong or be in the possession of the Government.

I feel that it should be in a museum for ALL to enjoy and appreciate the sacrifice that our forefathers made. Maybe the Private Owner should donate it or lend it to a museum instead of keeping it in his own personal vault or where ever he may want to keep it.

The state was found to have no claim. The man paid the money to own it. I don't think he should have to do anything except put it in a very nice case and make sure he treats it well.

it is not THE original declaration and it doesn't really matter if he has it or the state does
