So I'm thinking about playing around and making up some altered art that has a steampunk flavor. I can't actually start a whole outfit yet so maybe I'd play with making some jewelry i have laying around. As I clean I find stuff to use in other ways. What kind of glue would be good?
I can't do the metal soldering (sp?) so does anyone have a glue that would stick well but not show up?
i may even want to do rennie type stuff if I knew what to use.

E-6000 is one of the best jewelry glues around. So is #527. Both can be found at Michael's or through a jewelry makers catalog. Read the instructions carefully. If done right the stuff sticks unbelievably.

My mom - who is an amateur beader - swears by E6000. My experience w/it is that it's an excellent glue.

A big third for E-6000!
It's very strong yet flexible so it doesn't snap like a crazy-glue type of adhesive. It's what I use almost exclusively for everything from jewelry and props to repairing a small part in my dishwasher!

I do agree that E6000 is the best. I use it for favors and mine rarely fall apart. I'll use that when I start playing. I was just concerned about being able to see it through gears.

When I bought my last tube It had a pointy applicator tip on it, which helps.
Also, for some applications on my steampunk glove of doom, I sploobed the glue onto a piece of paper and then applied it to the site with the head of a pin.

It's not ready yet - only about half constructed.
