A bit of pottery prostitution!

Hey there!

I do ceramics, and make some fairly spiffy hand-lettered mugs. They are wheel-thrown and then freehand engraved with calligraphy by me! I have been making and selling them for a few folks at Bristol over the past couple years, and I have decided to make them slightly more widely available. Here are some examples:

Sooo....I'm thinking I'd offer these for $15 plus $1 per letter plus shipping. The lettering is really time-consuming, but comes out quite well. I can glaze in black, brick red, blue, or brown. These are microwave and dishwasher safe.

Those are in the neighborhood of 4 inches high and 3.5 inches wide at the mouth. They are pot-bellied, and hold a surprising amount. I try to make them good for belt-hanging...not too huge and heavy, but big enough not to make your butt look big! :-) I can make them bigger or smaller if you like.

I think Dan's Boobie's mug is awesome. He's going to love it. I am thinking you need to make a grand presentation at faire when you give it to him.

The description on the size of the mug is large enough to hold a full soda/with ice from faire and still have room for a healthy shot from a flask but not too large so that one's butt looks big when it hangs from a belt. :-D

have you ever tried to make purple by mixing your glazes or double glazing?

Hm...I can get a pretty purplish color with raspberry/glossy blue, but I am not sure how it will behave in the lettering. My main concern is that if the glaze runs when fired, it could mess things up...but hey, one learns by trying, I guess.
