Since the faires are pretty much over for 2005 in the immediate Omaha area, I invite the wenches with historical interests to check out the local SCA.
We get to dress in Garb (I did yesterday and had another 'living
history' demo today. The kids love it) and show and tell how life was in the
times of Good Queen Bess and earlier times.
If you're interested or just plain curious, follow the link below.
Revels and practices are in Elmwood Park (around the same area as
Shakespeare on the Green)

Interested spectators in garb or mundane are always welcome, and we
are always looking for new members. Unlike Amtgard, we do not focus
mostly on the combat aspects of medieval life, but on the lifestyles,
crafts and skills of people of all cultures living in the medieval
era 10th-16th century. We have more than a few serious costume freaks, and those skilled with a needle can network for their goods. We do have combat and archery for those so inclined (our Marshall of Archery is a woman) and the Marshalls are happy to train new shooters/fighters if you are so interested.

Don't put the garb away yet - the Kansas City faire begins Labor Day weekend and runs through mid-October. It's only a three-hour drive, so you've GOT to make it at least once! You can find me on the Seafarer's Beergarden Stage in the wharf area every half hour as one-third of MentalPause, hot flash wenches! We've got a great backstage area to entertain friends and guests so c'mon down!

You're making it awfully hard to resist the urge to take another mini-vacation. Will you be there the entire time?

I'll be there all 16 days as well--through heat, humidity, sun, rain, Nascar weekend---and whatever else Kansas throws our way!
I'm in the same lane as da Baroness' show--at a celtic jewlery booth. Pretty shiny sparklies and a wench discount to boot! PLUS the Jolly Rogers are also in our lane--which makes for some really nice scenery! I can't wait to see the new Mental Pause show--those hot flash wenches
