The first people I thought to ask for blessings and prayers were, all the wonderful wenches and rogues on this site.

Tonight, a dear man passed away as another victim of cancer. He was my ex-husband's father. It has only been in the past 3 1/2 years, since my ex passed away, that I became closer to this man. I reintroduced his first 2 granddaughters to him and gave him back many wonderful memories of his son.

This was his 4th bought with cancer and this time, he just didn't have the strength to go on.
He waited for his youngest daughter to come home from Germany and quietly left this world for a better one less than 24 hours later.

If you have a few extra moments in your day or night, could you please say a few prayers and blessings for he and his family?

Thank you, on behalf of myself, my daughters and his family.

I'm sorry for your loss. But you did a wonderful thing rekindling a relationship with your children's grandfather and giving all of them the joy of one another's love. I'm sure he made his transition in far more peace than had you remained estranged from him. You're to be commended. In this case - your reward truly is in heaven!

You got it - what good you have done, making his final time on earth brighter for the knowing of his granddaughters.

I have some happy news to relate.......

For the past 3 1/2 years, my ex-father-in-law had been trying to get my 2 daughters to meet their 1/2 brother and sister. There was never an appropriate time for this to happen, as in the way that, to meet a 1/2 sibling for the first time, you want a little privacy, not an occasion party.

Well, it wasn't a party but it was a celebration............ of Carm's life.
My youngest daughter, Nikki, finally met her 2 half siblings.
It was ackward at first but, within minutes, they were exchanging cell numbers and screen names (technology!!). I even got a hug from my daughter's 1/2 sister.

I let my ex-sisters-in-law know that, their dad had strong ideas and if he thought that his grandchildren should meet, then come hell or high water, they were going to meet. It's amazing how the death of a loved one can bring together the lives of a family. For that, I will always be greatful.

Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, blessings and warm wishes. I have passed them on to the rest of his family and they too say thank you.
