What's Nikki been up to?

Am I the only one who has been trying to fit the ring rhyme to Nikki since the discovery of her otherworldly connection? My problem has been that I keep wanting to switch from referencing dresses to corsets

Three Corsets for the Mortal-Queens playing at the Faire,
Seven for the Goth-Girls in their clubs of stone,
Nine for the Wenches coyly standing there,
One for the Seamstress working on alone
In the Land of Mayfaire where the Moon resides
One Dress to rule them all, One Dress to find them,
One Dress to bring them all and in the moment bind them
In the Land of Mayfaire where the Moon resides

Sigh, sorry for the inept changes but it was all i could come up with at this point.

I put it on my Facebook, I sent it to the bride and one of the bridesmaids-- hell, I even sent it to Lars, cos he thought the Sew-ron comment was hysterical enough to start with.

Mel's gonna do it up in calligraphy. I'm so not joking.

Aww! *blush* Thank you! No, it's a gorgeous Indian embroidered silk-- I used it before when I made Foxglove's wedding gown a few years back, but for that gown, we used Swarovski crystals. It's just glorious stuff. When we decided to use jewels on it, we bought several different sizes of stones, so it's not just covered in gems, it's covered in graded gems: largest at the hem, up to 3mm gems at about mid-thigh.

I had a team doing the garnets and citrines-- Barb and Kat and, I'm told, Kat's mom. Kat came down from Vermont to my place to help, and she and Barb got the skirt done in a few hours. Unfortunately, Kat had to go home on Saturday. So I sent the train and veil up to her in Vermont on Monday. The FedEx guy left before she could get to the door--gah!-- which resulted in her spending the day on the phone with FedEx trying to get him to come back, and me sitting in Philly going slowly nuts. She finally got it late in the afternoon, so she'd lost a whole day. But she and her mom worked like madwomen putting the stones on the 4-yard train and the lace motifs on the 4-yard veil, and sent both back to me Thursday. Barb spent Friday putting 3mm gems on the lace motifs on the veil, and we were ready to go.

I absolutely could not have done it without them. They completely rock. Kat also does English smocking, so I'm going to start incorporating that into my stuff next season, too. You've all been warned!

You still rock! I only enjoy what I can do on the sewing machine & try to limit the hand sewing to a button or hook here & there. Hate tight deadlines since I can only sew in the evenings or weekends. It is going to be hard for you to outdo yourself in the future.
