This was sent to me and I thought I'd share. There is so much truth in this.

DUSTING...
"A house becomes a home when you can write "I love you" on the furniture."

I can't tell you how many countless hours that I have spent CLEANING!

I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just perfect -- "in case someone came over"
Then I realized one day that no-one came over; they were all out living life and having fun!

Now, when people visit, I find no need to explain the "condition" of my home.
They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was away living life and having fun.
If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice.

Life is short. Enjoy it!

Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake a cake or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. And when you go -- and go you must -- you, yourself will make more dust!

Thanks Bux. Reminds me of my Great Grandmother (who always had a clean house and something baking in the oven but also has scads of photo albums of her life-well-lived.)

Bwahahaha! Ok, so this past weekend I went to Madison for Halloween with some of my friends, and one of them was carpooling with me to and from our dorm. Well, after coming back from Madison, I had to take my little brother trick-or-treating before going back to school. My mom either forgot or didn't pay attention when I told her someone would be with me, and she got mad at me cause our house was a mess. My thinking is, if I ever waited for the house to be clean...we'd never have anyone over. It's LIVED IN. There are 4 males and my mother in that house, and none of them are the neatest people. And everyone in my family are packrats. So I just forwarded this little glurge to her. Which will either make her angrier at me, or laugh. *shrugs* I am better at the first than the second. Stick with your strengths, right?

we had a few people over to watch videos and feed the little beggers

i cleaned 3/4 of the living roon and the bathroom. there were boxes but they were stacked leaving room for food and sitting.

i atually said- i cleaned to here! Now i am going to enjoy the evening!
