Default I need some advice on my new corset...

I am in the process of finishing my corset, but I am torn...should I bind it with color, leave it bound in white (which was the original plan), or something else? I almost want to add a small short ruffle, or lace to the top, but again...I'm not sure. This is just my everyday (if wanted) basic victorian style corset so I keep telling myself to keep it simple. Ok, here's a picture...

Looks great so far! I vote for a little bit of lace and/or ruffle - nothing too dramatic, just for a bit of 'prettiness'. Even for a basic, everyday corset there's no reason not to! I'd keep it white, though, rather than add color. That way it *will* look simple, despite the lace or ruffle!

Post a pic when it's done!

I say keep it white as well. But as for the lace or ruffle...if you wanted to add lace, you could also not add it to the corset and instead use some sort of fichu. It wouldn't go all around the corset, but it's an option.

I would say keep it white and add a little lace or ruffle. Simple and romantic. But of course, it's up to you.

    Hope that helped.

I agree... Maybe you could trim it in the white and add those little snappie thingys to add different lace trimmings? I did that to a pair of bloomers and it worked out great. I'm also using bigger buttons to use to have a removable cloak lining. That way I can change the lining according to how cold it is... And if you wnated to do it, you could change the ruffle according to what you felt like wearing that day...

Oooh, you could use those little hookie doodles too....

Me and my technical terms... snappie thingys, hookie doodles... lol

If you're not sure what I'm talking about, the hookie doodles are just like the bra hookies... and the snappies, I can post a photo when I get home... But I'm sure you get it...
Move along, nothing to see here...

lace at the bottom is great. I always aske if the person is wearing the corset next to skin or with a sleeveless "undershirt" because sometimes lace rubs under the arms at the top and will give a rash if it is next to skin.

Oh, yeah, I'm definately having a liner or something (depending on the temp) under it...I thought about lace and the itchies...lol

WenchLady, good idea!...hmmm....I am SO going to think about doing that (and if I don't do it this time, I will do it next time!)
