Tartanic has ended...

Just found this on Renspace. I know a lot of people on this site love their music....

To the Fans of Tartanic:

The ship has sailed, and we’re on our way to the Promised Land: for some that’s Tahiti, others Reno, and for others it’s back on the road to pursue personal endeavours.

Bottom Line: Tartanic has finally come to port at Davie Jones' Locker.

Jack Black once asked, “Is it better to burn out or fade away?” Well, we’ve lit the wick and walked away to watch the fireworks (not like we could ever see them at TRF). Our only hope is that we won’t drown to the raspy noise of a string quartet. If I were playing violin on the Titanic as I watched life boats fade away into the night sea, my last line would not be, “Gentlemen, it’s been a real pleasure.” Instead, I'd probably say, "I call shotgun!"

In all seriousness, Tartanic will not be touring after the close of the Arizona Renaissance Festival. Please come out to Apache Junction to give us your support because it's truly been a joy to entertain you. Also, come and get your Tartanic CDs because they're going like hot cakes and won't be available for much longer (AZRF ends April 1, 2007). They will also be available at CDBaby.com until that date.

Again, we've enjoyed our run for the last five years and we've especially loved meeting all of our adoring fans. In ten years, we'll look back at this period in our lives and think fondly on it.

I spoke with Adrian this year and it really does sound like it is for the best. I hope that in what ever they decide to move forward with it will keep them in the Ren faire area. I mean Adrian made a kicking Robin Hood at TRF all those years ago, I can't not see them around faire.

Then a friend of mine posted this on my LJ from the Renfest board to cheer me up! She had first posted about a new band Teribus being Tartanic with a new lineup but then she reposted with this once she got more info -

"I wanted to clear up a point about Tartanic and Teribus. While I'm subbing for Stu right now at Arizona and Richard and Nevik and I are starting a band together called Teribus that will be at Silverleaf for three weekends, Teribus is not Tartanic with a new name. Richard and I have been dying to be in a band together for years and we have a lot of great music within us without just playing all the Tartanic material. We're going to be playing some original and some period Renaissance and Medieval music as well as some of the more traditional pan-Celtic tunes. There are plans for new instruments and new costumes as well as new music. That doesn't mean we'll never play some tune Tartanic also played, it's just that we don't need to or want to re-hash Tartanic. It's time for something different and we're putting our heads together. Insofar as one of the executives of Silverleaf was trying to communicate that a band with the same kind of power was coming to his Faire this year, and that all the members of said band also played with Tartanic last year, it's an accurate statement. However I know this project is going to be very different. It's my understanding that the vast majority if not all of Tartanic's music was arranged or written by Richard Kean and he's the other piper in Teribus. If we end up sounding a bit like Tartanic then that's why but you're also going to hear my influence which has never been a part of Tartanic. Nevik has never been a full member of Tartanic but he is a full member of Teribus so one might hear something else in that fact as well. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when his musical gloves come off. Adrian won't be there so the show is going to look very different. This is a fresh new project and we're not trying to skate on the Tartanic name or material. We have our own names, our own material.
Teribus is not Tartanic and is not being sold as such."

I'll miss Tartanic but Teribus is sounding pretty damn cool.

Aw...they were at Bristol for the first time this past season...They were a great show! I got a couple of CDs...I guess that will have to do.
