It's almost that time again...* LOCAL 57 ELECTIONS*

Greetings, wonderful Wenches of All Flavors!

It's that time again - time to start thinking about the leadership of your local.

As you may know, the post of Madame and Vice Madame are two year terms, and this was the second year of the current M/VM. Wow! It's gone by so fast!

Once again, Angie (Lady Mama-layde/Mother Superior), who is our current Arbiter, is in charge of the election polls and such.

Nominations for Madame and Vice Madame will be accepted beginning NOVEMBER 15 and run through midnight on NOVEMBER 30. Voting will commence in December.

The newly elected officials will be announced the beginning of JAN 2008.

Well snipped, m'lass-- which brings me to the mention of PLATFORMS--
if you accept a nomination, or nominate yourself and it is seconded,
you need to do two things:

#1 -Post a photo of yourself in the PHOTOS section of the local YAHOO list (the folder will be marked 07 CANDIDATES) so we all know what you look
like, AND,

#2 - Post a PLATFORM on both this list and on the Wench.org forums
under Local 57.

Please keep in mind that yours doesn't have to be that long--
basically, just tell us all a little about yourself, what we might
want to know about you that might pertain to your leadership
qualities, and what sorts of things you want to bring to the Local if
elected Madame or Vice Madame.

Platforms and pics are due by the time voting starts (for any
*literal* llth hour entrants, we'll give you a *small* extension).

Remember: One Wench = One Vote-- make your voice heard as a
contributing member of this local, and ensure the continued success
of the IWG in our area. YOU make this local happen. Without YOU,
there is no Local 57.

Ok, Gals, look around you-- look at all those capable wenches nearby. Look in the mirror, too, as a leader might be lurking there. If you find someone you think would be a good leader, nominate them!

Our local runs on participation-- by every wench! This local is what you make it. Like it was said earlier, this is not a popularity contest. You vote for who you think is the best to lead our local. Who do you think can help make us *Bigger, Better, Faster, More?*

Last election, your choices were VERY LIMITED. It was Me and Anne Marie, or NOBODY. This year, I hope it will be different-- give us some choices, ladies! I *know* there is greatness amoung us. I've seen it.

SO....

FROM NOVEMBER 15-30, in order to post your nominations, please use the following in your Subject line: NOMINATION FOR MADAME/VICE MADAME: and then put in the nominee's name.

Example: NOMINATION FOR MADAME: Wilma Flintsone

or

NOMINATION FOR VICE MADAME: Betty Rubble

Then in your subject line: "I would like to nominate Wilma Flintstone as madame of local 57." or "I second the nomination of Wilma Flintstone."


I think you get the idea.

That makes it easier for people to pick out the nominees in order to second them. Then, of course, are the Platforms. Please use the same format:

PLATFORM FOR MADAME/VICE MADAME: Wilma Flinstone

The body should say something like: "I accept the nomination for ____, and the following is my platform:"

The voting poll will be posted after December 1 by our Arbiter.

One Wench - One Vote. Don't forget to make your voice heard!

Please refer to the message above for the preferred post format on that board. Your noms don't ABSOLUTELY HAVE to conform to that format, it's just for ease of members to weed out election vs. non election messages.

What's important is that you have a chance to nominate, or second, or VOTE.

Be 'VOCAL in your LOCAL'!!

Alrighty then... to expound just a bit more, if I may, here's a repeat
of past election ettiquette.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN NOMINATED:

Step The Firste: Please either accept or decline the nomination(s) as
is your desire, by NOVEMBER 30.

Step The Seconde: If you choose to accept a nomination, please post your PLATFORM on both the Yahoo Group and the Wench.org Local 57 Section (Please put the word: PLATFORM in your subject line and your name, so we can pick it out of the lineup easily. Merci!)

Step the Thirde: Post a nice Piccy of your sweet face on the Yahoo Group Photos section, for those of us who might not recognize your name or email-- faces to names matching could be very important.

There is a lovely folder in the Photos section that says 2007 CANDIDATES (if I spelled it right).

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NOT BEEN NOMINATED: Do you want to be considered for leadership of the local, to have the opportunity to guide our local to greatness and glory? Then, Lady...step right UP and nominate your own dang self! You are a WENCH-- if you want something, then you simply GO FOR IT!
