    Default Public Letter to KatieMac

You my dear.... are a jewel, and if I didn't know you were a wench... I'd have to send you a letter encouraging you to be one!

I /finally/ got a copy of "A Girls Guide..." and "Men in Kilts" from my local Library. Boy, was I in for a treat!

I nominate you for the "Best opening conversation in a Book" award for the opening to "Girls":

    "Gin makes me brilliant"
"No, Joy. Gin Makes you soused. Chocolate makes you brilliant."

You are truly amazing, and I cant wait for the next book!!!

Aw, you ladies are so nice! I'm tickled pink you guys liked the books. I had a lot of fun writing both (like you probably couldn't tell!). But I appreciate the warm fuzzies.

Hey, on a related subject, I just found out that the book I wrote set during a RenFaire/international jousting tournament is scheduled for early 2005. Maybe March or April. Should be fun to see that one hit the shelves! :)

Find them. Now I have to get the rest of her books and read them! Katie - you're good. And I'm envious...

Big smoochy kisses for you (by an appropriately dishy guy, I should point out). :)

Trust me, there is very little to envy in a writer's lot. It may look like all fun and glamour, but it is a very hard road to trod, made even more difficult by how much of it is out of the author's control.

The fan letters are nice, though! :)

Just finished A Girls Guide to Vampires. I needed a little mind candy this weekend. Raphael wasn't too bad but I kinda liked Christian but I'm a sucker for vampires or should I say suckee. Ok, it's getting late.
Needless to say, I enjoyed the book.
    peace,

    Default Improper English

I was going to post this on Katies other thread at Hussies Hangout. However, when I saw what was going on over there, I thought better about walking into a room full of drooling Wenches, without my flogger.
Improper English had me laughing out loud and HEAVENS Katie, you can sure write a kiss. However, you also wrote a female protaganist that had me wanting to step into the pages and strangle her. Did you do that on purpose? I'm quite surprized that Alex didn't do it himself. An excellent book Katie. Very rarely has any book made me run the gamut of emotions like that.

Glad you enjoyed the book, Paige! I really love writing the paranormals, so I'm always chuffed to find someone who likes vamps as much as I do. And Christian gets his own story in March (he was too nummy to leave hanging). :)

Thanks for letting me know what you thought! I always appreciate that.

Alix was intentionally flawed, John. I wrote that book as an anecdote to too many romances I'd been reading where the heroine was abso-bloody-perfect with no faults whatsoever. I decided I wanted to write a book that had a heroine with some very decided flaws at the beginning of the book, who had to work to not only get what she wanted, but to grow into a better person.

I assume Alex understood that, and that's why he didn't kill her upon numerous occasions (as a lesser mortal might have). :)

Glad you got a kick out of the book! IE has one of the most difficult heroines to embrace, but it was great fun trying to turn her around.
