July 9th Houston meet and greet

I must say that I could not me more disappointed in the so called Houston meet and greet last night. :(

I asked Constance Innuendo how we would recognize each other because it was a first time meeting. I was given a description of herself, her boyfriend and was told she would inform the bartender that they were there and where to find them.
I know it was to start at 9:00, but I didn't get there until 9:30. I was waiting for my husband to arrive from Baltimore so he could go with me. I also brought a prospective wench and her brother.
When I arrived I went immediately to the bartender and asked if the group was here. There were several of them and when asked, no one knew what I was talking about. I also asked the hostess and got the same reaction. After looking around I found no one that resembled the descriptions given to me. Every one with me wanted to leave. I asked them to say hoping someone would show up. We got some drinks and I positioned myself so that I could see that bar and the front door. I waited an hour then left.

The moral of this story is no one showed up.

I am very disappointed that the madam of the Houston chapter didn't even show for her own party. If she did show at 9:00 and left before 9:30, I think that was bad form.

We also lost the prospective Wench to be.

I am also wondering if I should have even joined the wench guild. If it were not for the Dallas Wenches, I would probably drop out. I do hope that some time I can get together with them for some good fun. I was really looking forward to meeting other people with common interests as mine.

As a post note, I have been having a really bad past month and was hoping this would go right.
Oh well, I am still going to try to make the fabric invasion. I can't say for sure. Let you know soon.

Leota, I'm terribly sorry the staff dealt with you in this manner. we were sitting at a table for 10, we had a sign with the wench logo posted on the hostess' podium, both hostesses also claimed that they knew where to send anyone asking for us. we had signs at both ends of the table, we were seated in the main room and didn't leave til almost 1am. Now when I say "we" I mean myself, my boyfriend, my two best friends and the ONE other wench that showed up. You're not the only one who was disappointed last night.
I am truly sorry you felt slighted or wronged in some way, this was not may intention.
I can only ask that you be willing to bear with me and try again.

Second I feel maybe you should try in the future to be a little better informed before you start in with your nastiness and badmouthing.

The staff was as confused as I was.

There was no Hostess podium and only one hostess and no table with the wench logo on it.

we were seated in the main room and didn't leave til almost 1am. Now when I say "we" I mean myself, my boyfriend, my two best friends and the ONE other wench that showed up. You're not the only one who was disappointed last night.

I am very sorry it was a disappointment for you as well, but there were no people in this club with the descriptions given. It was very "YUPPIE" not a long hair in the entire bunch.

I would be happy to try again, but I had to bring in people from out of town that night, My friend and her brother and my husbands flight from Baltimore. It was not an easy task to arrange and you can understand the frustration.

If you want to be that specific, re-email me your email with your instructions, because I believe you did say bartender, In any case as above I asked their hostess as well no one knew what I was talking about and looked at me like I was crazy for asking more than once.

How much more informed should I be when you supplied me with the information. I sent you an email asking you how to recognize you and you told me. Maybe and address or directions may have been in order. I'm not much for fighting or conflicts, but I will not lie down for that. I followed the directions provided to me.

If I was in the wrong place I apologize for saying you did not show up. It looks to me like we both showed up but at two different places. I believe the error may have been in both cases.

If you want to try again, just let me know. I am willing to try, I will even try to persuade my friend to try again.

So shall we let bygones be bygones, and accept my apology?

it does sound like you were in the wrong place. in my original 6/6 message I said "ok:) hows this for notice?

there is only one fox and hound that is south of town. . .. but obviously I should have been more specific (was having a lot of trouble actually finding the physical address).

My goof then,

I went to the Fox and Hound on Westheimer. That's sort of south/east of houston. Ihas been ther for a long time and it was the only one I knew about. I was never good at directions.

Now that we got that settled, we can get down to business.

I would love to meet again and work on the hostle.

sorry, I couldn't make this one, I was actually in Houston this week, however this friday I will be returning to Houston till at least the beginning of my son's school year. (minus times that I need to go to doc's visit for either myself or little wench in training) So please please let me know, I'll try to make anything.

That really sucks for everyone involved. I am also horrible at directions and would have probably got lost - and I teach Geography. Kind of scary - huh?
We have the database for the area, would you like a copy?? You could contact them directly that way and see why they couldn't get together and who is interested in joining the TRF Hostel Comittee I know it is alot of extra work though. E-mail me and we will get that out to you.


Good luck on future gatherings. You guys in Houston are having a hard time joining up. I am sure it will be worth while once you do.
