    Default Ceramics

My cousin and I are trying to start a small cermaics (and other gifts) business. She is really talented, but she needs to be convinced that her stuff is good enough to sell.

I would be most appreciative if anyone who enjoys hand painted ceramics (mugs, bowls, vases, plates...etc.) would go to the link below and take our market survey.

There are pictures of some items she has painted for fun, none of them are for sell, but when we get started there will be similar items. I will be most thankfull if you leave your opinions in the guestbook at the bottom of the page. :D

If our business gets going and we do well our first year we plan on takeing our wares to some Ren. Festivals.

The one thing I'll tell you you might have a problem with is that many faires require that you 100% make items yourself. You'll have to check on that. Also, there are a lot of potters at faire who do make all their own, and that's going to be some stiff competition. Could you guys make your own? Do you have the resources to do so?

Are you pouring your own greenware?

I like most of your items.

    You have some original ideas.

    The colors are good.

My only negative is that neatness is very high on my list and the green on the inside wasn't the neatest.

I did ceramics for years and understand what you are up against. Good luck!

Those particular pieces were done at a shop where you buy the greenware and paint it. The ones that will be sold when we get this started will be done more professionaly, my cousin even commented on her own work about the sloppy look of the green plate.

She just bought a kiln and molds from my grandma, so we will be making the rest our selfs, it'll all be hand made, except for the slip (spelling? not sure how to spell it, it's the stuff you use to make the greenware).

The green plate was actually my favorite...because of the immediacy and "sloppiness" of it...call me crazy
68.4% pure...I\'m still a renaissance virgin, but getting better.
