I have quite a few ears out and, although there are plenty of rumors flying around (swoosh, there goes another one), I haven't heard anything concrete yet. FOF is having a rescheduled meeting this Saturday where, supposedly, they will be told the latest news from REC. I can't be there (I have tons of work to preparing for four festivals, the first starting in Feb., and I have to work Sat. night; it's only a 700 mile round trip for me to the meeting) but Linda will be posting what happens at the meeting on the FOF board so you might want to keep an eye out there.

it ends the week before the 3 day weekend!
I usually can only get memorial day off to go and the weekend before is Orange blossom festival in riverside so no way i can make the last weekend.
why would they cut the 3 day weekend???

The new site was already booked for Memorial week-end. So it required changing the faire dates. My impression is that it will return to the normal dates next year.
