Okay, so loads of crud heaped on top of Dragonfly lately, right?
I just had to share my increasingly good news!
On Friday EDS extended a job offer to me that pays me just slightly lower than what I'm getting paid now, BUT I will finally have full health coverage! I can go to the chiropractors and get my neck and spine untwisted from the LAST car accident i was in! (And therapeutic massage for my poor neck and shoulders! I have missed that.) They are also willing to be flexible and allow me to change around my shift so that I can go to school in the evenings as was previously planned!
Also, I got home Friday after this happy news to discover an award letter from my college giving me $3,000 MORE than I need to cover my costs for this semester! In fact, I got a Grant that will cover the entire amount, allow me to pay off one of my OLD student loans, and I won't have to pay any of that back! So all my worries about added expenses in the future (at least the near future) are null.
Then on Saturday I got a call from the insurance agency FINALLY with an offer on my car! I had priced her out at the Kelley Blue Book website as being only worth $1800, so imagine my surprise when he offered me $3200!! I said Hell yeah, I'll take it!
My brother promptly jumped on things and then proceeded to call all his contacts in the area trying to locate me a new-to-me car. He was a used car salesmen for a short time, so he knows the tricks and what to watch out for...and he's got a friend at a Honda dealership trying to locate me a very, very basic Honda. They expect to have something for me by Wednesday.
So...then as if that wasn't enough, I get to hang out for TWO DAYS with my bestimus friend, Foxglove, and I got to chat with Ysobelle via AIM (which I gotta get, because everybody I know is on that thing). I got to share Shaun of the Dead with her, which rocks because I'd wanted to see it with her when it originally came out, but it sped out of theaters.
I also got 6 ski-free passes to Ski Roundtop to further perfect my snowboarding and/or skiing art this winter (which would rock). AND I was presented with an ultra-fuzzy bright red fleece emblazoned with the Ski Roundtop logo on it for when I do said activities. I've been dying for a warmer jacket than the threadbare and overly bulky things I've had, and you can't really ski in the leather jacket I've got, so it was really nifty.
Anyway...I just had to share! I get to remain gainfully employed at a business that will look EXCELLENT on a resume, I get to go to school, and I get to get a new car within the next week! Life is just awesome right now!![]()
