Request from Lars regarding Knockoff Guild Pins

This post is made at Lars’s request, as he doesn’t currently have regular access to the Internet.

It has come to his attention that there is a vendor on the Florida circuit selling guild pins. These are not sanctioned pins. These pins do not come with guild memberships, and are not in any way connected with Lars or the guilds he created, other than the fact that the pins where cast to look just like his. The only way to be certain that you are ACTUALLY purchasing a guild membership along with a pin is to buy it from a Lundegaard Armory location, the Lundegaard web site or a booth where Lars himself is actually standing.

Lars is compiling information on the situation and asks that if you have any concrete information on any individual who is selling knockoffs that you PM me so that I can get it to him.

How 'bout just some good thoughts that Lars can get this ironed out ASAP and recoup any lost earnings from royalties due (because he IS due royalties for anything that was sold!).

Goo dpoint Rhia.... Hopefully the women who purchased the pins have made thier way here at one point and have asked...what little brown book are they talking about??

I know when Lars and I spoke, only men were spoken of...

this does not mean no wench pins were made....just everyone keep an ear and eye out for such things...

and I think wishing bad on folks equals bad karma, so I must concur, wish Lars good thoughts about this situation!!!!

Thanks for speaking up on the subject... I was out of town. (whoops, didn't see your post on the subject either.... sorry about that!)

Lars would absoloutely like to keep this on the legal side... all he is asking at this time is that we keep our eyes and ears open, gather as much information as we can, as quickly as we can, on who is behind the knock offs, and get that information to him.

It's a terrible thing on a number of levels... the folks who have been fooled into thinking they have joined a guild, when they haven't... as well as the fact that selling these guild pins & memberships is a big part of how Lars earns his living... so who ever is behind this is taking food out of his mouth.

I hope we can catch this person, and make it right.

I understand that creativity is difficult for some people, but duplicating someone elses hand-made work is just terrible!

It would be interesting to see how much "homework" they did to work on their speech to sell the guilds. Are they promoted just like our guilds? Or are these supposed to be different guilds? Or why they think no one would notice?

Inquiring minds want to know...

My fingers and toes are crossed for Lars to get this cleared up quickly!
