Never been to Sterling, as I have dogs and no one to sit fer them. You know, don't like to leave them alone for very long and if I went it'd have to be an overnight thing. How does it compare to Tuxedo, though?
There are some people who can make love standing on a hammock. However, that is not the easiest way.

It's hard to be sloppy in a bodice, but some girls DO manage--tighten them strings, dammit!!!

So far, I haven't been to Tuxedo. Looks like I'll have to make a road-trip this year.
I've actually not been to any other faire at all so, I have ALOT of road-trips to take. :D
My daughter went to school in NYC last year. I wish I had known of Tuxedo. Oh well, there's my excuse to go cross state again.

Comparing Tux to Sterling is like comparing apples and oranges. They're both fruit, but...

Sterling is a more sedate atmousphere. The food is better. The prices are better. The grounds are beautiful and the shows are wonderful. There's good shopping and lots of shade.

Tux is, well, Tux. It's my home faire, so I'm biased.

I like Sterling a lot and plan on going up again this year. Perhaps we'll have to plan a wench meet and greet!

Sterling and Tux are two very different faires, and I love them both.

I have been going to Tux several weekends a year for about 12 years, so it is my base for comparison. Great cast, great music, alot of good vendors and of course Mead.

Sterling has amazing vendors, great music but less of it. very good local mead
Sterling does not permit weapons, which I was not aware of my first visit.
I didn't understand why people were staring at us until we got to the gate and saw the sign. We had to lock them in the car.
Sterling is built on a hillside and is mostly tree covered. Nice atmosphere if you are up to the hills.

Go to both faires if you can.
I'll definately be at Tux and hope to get to Sterling. Distance being the only issue.
I would need the whole weekend.

Sterling is where I grew up. Go if you have a chance.

They are very selective as to the artisans.

    Great food. Shady. Good entertainment.

I am hoping to make a trek to Tux in the near future:)

I've been to the Sterling faire, I have to say I rather enjoyed it even though it poured. However i am closer to Tux, (45 min) I've never been. I"m really looking forward to making it to both this year!!

I would love to take a trip up there also. I'm also 45 minutes north of Tuxedo.
Of course, that's about 4 hours away from Sterling.

I lucked out and have been going to both Faires for many moons. I live about 20 minutes from Tuxedo and my sister is a half hour from Sterling.
