Just had to share that I made a few calls yeasteday, and a lot of hotels are pretty booked for opening weekend, and a lot of the rest of the summer too.
Remind me next week to make my 2006 reservation.

Hmm. I remember hearing about that on other years. Luckily I live close enough that we usually drive home rather than stay near Faire. Maybe that should be a reminder post for January to have people book hotels early.
Try the Hawthorne Suites (it's further off down Hwy 50, but still close to Faire) or any other hotels near the Six Flags in Kenosha (WI) or Gurnee (IL) (if you stay in Gurnee, send me a PM and I'll tell you the back way to the Faire so you miss the last highway toll).
