Of course I won't be able to make this, I have to work weekends.

It does look like we will be moving into the house on the 2,3 and 4th of March.. FINALLY ! ! ! ! ! I can't wait to get settled. I am tired of living like a gypsy.

See what I get for paying attention? I had no idea we were split off into a new local. Hah! At any rate, I'll be at NorWesCon as a guest panelist and helping out at the Steamcon® fan table. I'm the Games Coordinator for Steamcon®and will be looking for people to volunteer for me. :)

    My Panels:

Fans and the Effects of New Technologies on Fandom
The primary communication tools of fans in the early days were fanzines and gathering at conventions. Now we have email lists, blogs, and social media. How has this changed fandom and fannish interaction?

    MMORPG 101 - Moderator
Massively multiplayer online role-playing games have revolutionized computer gaming, and become the dominant mode for computer role-playing games. Thought about playing one? Are the acronyms confusing? Can’t follow the gaming chatter from your friends? Come learn about MMORPGs. Get suggestions from our panelists on the type of MMO would fit your gaming style, schedule and budget.

The First One is Free! - Moderator
Casual games are usually free on-line or free to download and try, and are “casual” in that they have extremely simple gameplay, like a puzzle game, that can be played in a web browser or cell phone. And they are addictive. Oh, so addictive… Join our panelist in a discussion of the numerous types of casual games, how they’ve evolved from their humble beginnings, and how they affect the gaming market.

    Steampunk Gaming
With the arrival of more Steampunk than ever in games, what makes this genre tick? What can players and game masters expect? What companies are supporting steampunk with rules, adventures, and settings? Our panel has a very genteel and civilized set of fisticuffs about the "new" style in games.

    Women in Gaming
Our all-female panel of gaming professionals discusses the growing presence / awareness of women playing and designing games, along with busting those “girl gamer” myths. Our panelists will discuss gaming from card/board games to video games, how they got started in the industry, and how you can, too!
