Loss of a Friend

Ladies,

For those of you who haven't heard, Chris Rhen, one of our grey-shirt security officers at PARF passed away Friday evening. It is believed that it was a massive heart attack. Chris was only 36 yrs old. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. He will be sorely missed as he was a friend to Local 9.

They will be doing an autopsy tomorrow to find out what happened. He had no known problems except for high cholesterol. He turned 36 last month. And, I miss him.

For any of Local 9 who would consider going to Chris' funeral...
at present, arrangements are still unfinished, but it appears as though there will be a ceremony on Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Cornwall with a reception to follow at the Campbelltown Fire Company. As of now, I have do not have any further information to pass along, nor information regarding the wishes of the family for memorials, participation of his beloved fire fighting brethren or his fellow security officers. I will pass along any additional information in this thread as it becomes available.

Thank you. I'm still kinda in shock that he's gone. I can't imagine how his family and closer friends are handling this.

The service is at 4pm at the church. It is completely open to the public. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Chris Rhen's memory to the Campbelltown Fire Dept. If you saw him outside of Faire, he was probably wearing at least one piece of clothing that had the CFD logo on it.

Thanks to everyone for the thoughts & prayers. It is still a shock, but I know he would be very surprised at the number of lives he has touched in such a positive way. He always thought he was overlooked. Hard to do with that big, bald head, but anyway....
