I just wanted to check in and let you girls know that I am alive and doing well :)
Alex is almost 5 months old and doing very well. I am so much happier without the stress of my soon-to-be-ex-husband in my life. I will be starting 2012 legally married, but by the end of it I will be divorced. It is sad that my marriage is ending, especially this way. But I am glad that I have the chance to find someone who will treat me better than he did, someone who will love me and my son completely. Though, that will be awhile. I need to make sure I have hide time to heal from this.

Being one who just called off my engagement I can understand. We don't NEED to have men in out life but it is nice to have someone around. The best thing to do is keep your head up and keep great friends close. I'm sure your baby boy will keep you busy and show you how great of a mother you are.

I am not much of a poster but I wanted to say that I am proud of you for realizing that staying would show the wrong kind of love to your son. Proud of you, its not something all people see clearly. Your beautiful strong and loving but not a doormat and that is a good way to be.

I am glad that you and Alex are doing well. Sometimes things don't work out the way we originally hope, but often they're for the better. You are an outstanding Mom to Alex! I grew up in a family where my parents fought constantly, but only stayed married because that's what one did then "for the children". Ugh. It's a lot harder in a one parent household financially, but you won't be subjecting Alex to grown up problems. I am so sorry for the betrayal you endured. I have been both betrayed AND betrayer... but in my many years learned a lot about myself and what my own demons were. I am a better person for having gone through what I have thus far in my life, and I know I'm a great Mom and, hopefully, a pretty darned good person. You are on that path of discovery too - and you are sharing it with the ONE man who truly does mean everything in your Universe. Enjoy him and be all that you can with him. C'mon - Alex's Mom is a Wench! How cool is that???

Thanks everyone :) We are doing really well. May 7th I will be legally divorced. A fellow wench Selyna is coming with me for support and sushi later.
The ex and I are getting along pretty well right now, as long as I make sure the topic sticks to Alex and the divorce. No reason to discuss anything else right now. We were able to come up with an agreement on everything without needing mediation so that is good. It sounds like he is giving up faire as he mentioned selling his garb. His loss in my opinion.

I swear I need to reserve a rogue pin for Alex for when he turns 18. He is already flirting with the ladies! He even yelled at a waitress because she walked by without saying hi! And he is only 8 months old!!
