I'm enjoying Lost Girl, but it keeps making these dips into really cliched, 2-D characters and situations that annoy the crap out of me. I have a friend, though, who's watched through the third season, and he says it just gets better.

I'm addicted to Full Metal Jousting. My hubby seems to be stuck on the idea that if it's not done the historical way, than it's not right. I understand that they want to keep these guys and the horses living and breathing, so I'm ok with the rules they are using.

However, I would prefer that they did not pick the quarter finalists by who won their matches. I think it would have been more interesting if they had picked by the number of points at the end of each bout, whether you had won or not. A number of guys who "lost" had really high points (13 or more), versus one of the semifinalists, who had gotten an injury, sat around for a week, and still managed to win his match with 3 points.

Also, I disliked the idea of having someone switch teams when a jouster bowed out of the competition. He didn't want to switch and the team he switched too didn't want him either. I think he could have been a good asset if they had accepted him, but they didn't. Oh well.

I don't think this type of jousting will take off at many Ren Faires, tho. Most of the patrons want the theatrics and fake blood, versus something more real and dangerous.

And if I was the winner, I would turn in the prize money for the horse I was riding when I won. A good horse would be worth it if the guy wanted to continue to joust.

    Just my 2 cents.
