Default Quick n' Easy Mini-Meat Pies!

I posted this recipe on my blog earlier today. Since faire season is here, sometimes we need to pack a little basket lunch of munchies.
Meat pie has many variations, this is my quick n' easy version for making large batches.

    MINI MEAT PIES
    (Makes 5)
    You’ll need…
1 small can Pillsbury fluffy biscuits
    1/3 lb hamburger meat
    1 can vegetable soup
    1 tablespoon white pepper
    1 tablespoon paprika
    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    3 tablespoons onion powder
    1 tablespoon dry mustard
    1 tablespoon parsley
    ½ tablespoon sage
    ¼ teaspoon rosemary
¼ teaspoon thyme (cue Simon & Garfunkel)
    2 tablespoons sour cream

    For biscuit flour:
    1 cup flour
    1 teaspoon white pepper
    1 teaspoon garlic

    1. In skillet, brown meat while adding seasonings gradually. Drain off grease.
    2. Open soup, drain off excess broth. In bowl, mix meat, Worcestershire, sour cream and soup mix together.
    3. Grease muffin tins, open biscuits. On dry surface, blend flour mix. Roll biscuits on both sides, and using rolling pin, lightly flatten just enough (should be small saucer sized).
    4. Preheat oven to 350F. Line muffin tins with biscuit flats, should drape oven. Using spoon, dallop in pie filling. Using your hands, pinch the overlay dough inward, should leave a dime-sized opening in the top as a vent.
    5. Bake at 350F for 15-18 minutes, remove from oven when golden on top.
    6. Serve with a nice brown gravy or HP Sauce Sprinkle with shredded sharp cheddar for extra bite.

This looks good! Might be something to also take on a wine tour.

    Mmm.....wiiiiine.....

There's a new vineyard at the festival in the Italian Quarter, Pecan Creek Vineyard...I might have to try a meat pie with their spring wassail!
