Today we announce the passing of our family companion, Dusty. He chose to share the past 15+ years with us, bringing us much joy and on occasion anxiety.
From the onset of being small enough to hold in one hand, he grew both in size and in our hearts. On his first day with us, he went to sleep under the fridge; coming out hours later coated from head to tail in dust bunnies, thereby naming his self.
Having learned the basic differences between a string and a wire, he took up the art of running, jumping, stalking and pouncing; followed by boxing (as taught by his Rogue), taking on both a Tom Cat and First Degree Black belt, defeating them both soundly, then hiding until being rescued by his people.
Joining us in traveling half the continent from NJ to TX, Dusty adapted to his new home, enjoying central AC for the first time, and vying for position in front of a fireplace.
His courage in facing unknown (and TX sized) bugs, waiting in the window sill for Mom and Dad to come home, his meows in greeting us when we came home, the gentle purrs and rubbing will be missed, but will always be cherished.
Until we meet again, farewell to our companion, our friend,
Mr. Dusty.
